Hey Mamas!
I’m Rachel, and I’m so happy you’re here. I thought I’d take a moment to share a little more about me, my journey, and how Jiggi Mamas came to life.
I’m a Devon girl, born and raised in Totnes, where my love for dance first began. From the age of five right through to eighteen, I trained at Totnes School of Dance, spending countless hours in studios that truly shaped who I am today. Dance was, and is always my happy place!
After school, I headed off to Essex to take my passion further, earning my Diploma in Dance & Musical Theatre. Not long after, I landed what felt like an absolute dream job, becoming a professional dancer with an American cruise line. Over the years, I was lucky enough to travel the world performing in production shows, soaking up life at sea and doing what I loved every single day. I even stepped into the role of Dance Captain, making sure performances stayed slick and polished, and became the ship’s resident Zumba instructor — because who doesn’t love a good boogie on deck?
Beyond cruise life, dance took me to some pretty amazing places, from the UK to Dubai, Australia, and even New York. After nearly a decade of adventures, I eventually found my way back home to beautiful Devon, feeling ready for whatever chapter came next.
Once I was back, I tried my hand at various jobs and roles, but if I’m being totally honest… nothing quite filled my cup the way dancing always had. Something was missing, even if I couldn’t quite put my finger on it at the time.
Then came my biggest and most rewarding role yet — becoming a Mama to my gorgeous boy, Albie. Motherhood has a funny way of making you stop and really think about what matters most. When my maternity leave came to an end, I was told I’d need to return to work full time or not at all. And in that moment, something clicked.
Instead of forcing myself back into something that no longer felt right, I made a brave decision to do something for me — and for other mamas who might be feeling the same way. That decision was the beginning of Jiggi Mamas.
I missed my dancing shoes far too much, but more than that, I missed the joy, freedom, and connection that movement brings. Jiggi Mamas was created to bring all of that back — a space for mums to move, dance, bond with their babies, and feel like themselves again, even if just for an hour.
They say things happen for a reason… and looking back now, I truly believe they do. Jiggi Mamas is my way of combining everything I love: dance, community, motherhood, and joy — and I’m so grateful to share it with you.
I am so excited to expand my experience with the Mama community and continue to provide space for mums to breathe and feel supported
